FOCUSED ON NOW
The funny thing was, while I was out searching for antique lancets I forgot to pick up my one supply. Or rather, I let it run out. When I got home, finally, I had none. Can you believe it. So I caught it from Tara, who said I better get more focused on the here and now, and get my head out of the clouds. I blamed it on my disease, light-headedness, you know. She wasn't buying. I went out to get some. Just as I pulled into the drugstore I spotted Jim. He was getting into his car. He had a bag of candy with him, and I began teasing him about his diet. He laughed. He said he had no more vices, so he needed to do something Jim and I are in the same support group with Mr. Callahan, who is 95 years old and never eats any sweets. I told Jim he has to be more like our friend. He said he would in about 50 years. I told him to say hello to his wife, Sue, and that I'd see him next week at the support group. I went to the back of the store and got some lancets. I thought the old antique ones that I bought from Oscar were so cool, compared to these old plastic things.
