I saw a sign in a local store yesterday for an Oriental rug in Chicago that was for sale. I had been looking for an Oriental rug for a few months now. I really don’t know what made me go look at this rug in particular, as I knew the choices at this store were very limited. When I got there, I found there was only one rug of the type I had in mind left in the store and the sales people were raving about it. As I was looking at it, my mind started filling with happy memories. It looked just like the one Grandma had in her house, which I had always admired. As a child, I spent many cheerful days sitting on that rug in Grandma’s house learning my shapes and colors or just listening to Grandma tell me stories of the past. I thought it was pretty interesting. I took a picture of the rug just for laughs and brought it to my Grandma to look at. Grandma’s eyes lit up. Sure enough, it was the same type of rug in the same colors and all. She had bought hers 50 years ago! Grandma’s rug still looked good after all these years. I ended up purchasing the rug and hope it will keep those wonderful memories alive for a long time.
