A lot of new and exciting things were going on in my life. My husband and I were just married a short time when we decided to relocate to Chicago to be closer to where his family resides. The lease was up on our apartment so now was a good time to make a move. Not knowing where we were going to live once we arrived in Chicago was a major stress point for me and put a damper on our happiness. Chicago is a big city, which I was not familiar with. The only time I was there was to visit my in-laws right before our wedding. We spent all our time making arrangements for our wedding and didn’t have any time to check out the city. My husband’s family had lived in their home for many years but were not familiar with any other neighborhood except their own. I didn’t really know anything about the housing situation there or where to begin collecting this information. I spoke with a Chicago Real Estate broker and he helped us to find our perfect dream home in an area that was convenient and practical for our needs. Now, if I only had someone to help me remember all my new relatives names, I really would be appreciative.
